Jigio (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides a trip-planning app that helps you plan adventures with friends and family. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and optional profile details (such as first and last name).
- Trip content: Information you add to trips — titles, destinations, dates, itineraries, notes, lists, emoji tags, and photos you upload as trip covers or profile images.
- Collaboration data: Email addresses you invite to trips, membership status, and activity related to shared trip planning.
- Location-related data: Destination names and coordinates you select when creating trips (via location search). We do not continuously track your device location in the background.
- Technical data: Basic device and app usage information needed to operate the service, such as authentication tokens and error logs.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Jigio app and related services
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Sync trip data and enable real-time collaboration with people you invite
- Send transactional emails such as password reset messages
- Respond to support requests
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the app:
- With your trip collaborators: Trip details you create or edit are visible to people you invite to that trip.
- Service providers: We use trusted infrastructure providers to host our API, database, authentication, file storage, email, location search, and weather data. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Data retention
We retain your account and trip data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at hello@getjigio.com.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children’s privacy
Jigio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

- Leave trips you were invited to

International users
Jigio is operated from Canada and the United States. If you use the app from other regions, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate.
